Two CCSD Schools Earn State Honors for Student Performance

Two Cherokee County School District schools have earned state honors for outstanding student performance and growth!

Congratulations to River Ridge High School and Knox ES STEM Academy for Greatest Gains recognition by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s Single Statewide Accountability System Awards!  Our School Board is laser focused on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else.

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement recognizes schools for high academic performance and growth based on College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores from the three most recent school years.  Schools can earn honors in Greatest Gains and Highest Performing, and each category includes four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.  River Ridge, led by Principal Todd Miller, was recognized for Greatest Gains at the Silver level, and Knox ES STEM Academy, led by Principal Debbie Ritter, was recognized for Greatest Gains at the Bronze level.

The school district’s overall student performance, as measured by the CCRPI state accountability system, has risen to Georgia’s 8th-highest, up from 21st, out of 180 school districts!  You can learn more about CCSD’s all-time high student performance at https://www.cherokeek12.net/divisions/curriculum-instruction/accountability/ccrpi.
