Superintendent Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week at Boston ES
Superintendent of Schools Mary Elizabeth Davis surprises Boston ES teacher Samantha Wasdin.
It’s national Teacher Appreciation Week, and Superintendent of Schools Mary Elizabeth Davis wrapped up the celebration with a visit Friday morning to Boston Elementary School. She surprised three teachers with gift bags and bouquets of spring flowers as she thanked them for all they do for our students! Teachers surprised with gifts included Special Education teachers Melissa Young and Eileen Gilbert, along with third-grade teacher Samantha Wasdin. Ms. Wasdin was teaching a lesson in cursive handwriting when Dr. Davis knocked at her door, and in addition to the surprise visit and gifts, Ms. Wasdin got a break from the lesson as Dr. Davis jumped in and tackled the cursive instruction for letters o, p and q with the class. Dr. Davis started the morning at Boston meeting with principals from the Etowah Innovation Zone to hear their feedback on CCSD’s strengths and opportunities for continuous improvement. #CCSDfam #ThankATeacher
